What Makes Our Replacement Windows Energy-Efficient?December 16, 2016
Ideally, your home should be able to minimize thermal transfer. This means that components like windows should not lose heat during cold days and absorb heat from outside during hot days. At Renewal by Andersen®, we offer replacement windows that satisfy all of these conditions. They have the following advanced technologies that ensure an energy-efficient window installation project:
Through years of research, we have produced an ideal frame material with numerous benefits. Fibrex is a composite of reclaimed wood fibers and polymer. It combines the strength and stability of traditional wood with the low-maintenance benefits of vinyl. Fibrex also has excellent insulation properties, and unlike traditional materials, it is not susceptible to warping due to temperature changes.
Advanced Glass Technologies
Our replacement windows, including the bow window, come standard with dual-pane High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass. This has three different performance levels depending on your needs. The exterior panes feature a metal oxide coating that helps reduce water spotting up to 99%, allowing rainwater to slide away easily. We coat the inner pane with a low-E coating that filters harmful UV and infrared rays that result in fading and a hotter indoor environment.
We also use a low conductivity spacer to separate the glazing. In between the panes, we fill the airspace with a non-toxic, colorless, and odorless argon gas blend. This acts as further insulation, enhancing your window’s energy-efficient features. Finally, we seal both panes using an advanced technique that helps provide a longer service life for your replacement windows.
We believe that the installation process is as crucial as the windows themselves. This is why each member of our team has proper training and follows a strict installation procedure. Once installed, you can immediately start enjoying the benefits of energy-efficient custom windows.
