Step-By-Step Guide on Using the Window and Door Visualizer™
January 23, 2018If you’re the type of homeowner who likes to take your time exploring all window replacement options before scheduling a consultation, you’ll love the Renewal by Andersen® Window and Door Visualizer™. This free online tool lets you design and virtually install replacement windows and patio doors on a 3D, digital model of your home. Here’s a quick walkthrough:
STEP 1: Take a Picture
Start by taking photos of the sides of your home where you plan to install your new windows and patio doors. Once you have the pictures, simply open the Window and Door Visualizer page and click “Upload My Photo” to begin uploading.
STEP 2: Prepare Your Photos
Next, you’ll need to scale your photos. You need to resize a bar over a part of your photo that you know the exact measurements of, like the width of your entry door. The Window and Door Visualizer will then automatically calculate the size of your home in relation to the photo. Afterward, you will need to identify the existing windows and patio doors in your photo.
STEP 3: Design Your Own Windows and Patio Doors
Now it’s time to design your own energy saving windows and patio doors. You can mix and match from our wide selection of styles, colors and grilles. The categories are organized into tabs for easier navigation, with the changes applied as you click on them.
STEP 4: Save, Print or Share
You can save as many designs as you want, and if you’d like to explore your options, simply click the “Review” tab to print it on paper or save it as a digital image. You can even share your design on Facebook or Pinterest. The saved image will also include a “spec sheet” which details the complete specifications such as style, size and color. You can simply present this to our consultant when you’re ready to move forward with the window replacement.
